Artist Spotlight: Motionless In White

I am back and hopefully will be more current for a couple months! Today I would like to highlight a band that I have just recently become a fan of, Motionless In White.

Over this past summer, I had to opportunity to attend many concerts and had a BLAST! I originally was not set to see these guys live, but two days before the concert my good friend Seanna contacted me with a free ticket. You can’t refuse a free concert right?! So I went and I saw Motionless In White with In This Moment on one leg of their Half God Half Devil tour.

Lets start out with the sound of the band.  I had NEVER listened to these guys before I saw them live, so I wasn’t quite aware of what I should be expecting. However, I was not in any way disappointed. It is very unique to say the least, but its also incredibly enjoyable. The vocals are distinctive and for me, quite empowering. Chris’s live vocals are incredibly developed and well executed.

Watching the band play was a spectacle as well. They had a Halloween themed set up, a creepy looking picket fence and pumpkins stuck on the fence posts. They also had someone come out in costumes and throw candy into the crowd, along with shooting the crowd with a water gun. I was truly captivated by the performance all together and at that moment I knew I would be sure to see them again!

After this show I did begin to actively listen to Motionless In White and I can honestly call myself a fan now. Off of their newest album “Graveyard Shift” I currently find myself jamming to Rats and Necessary Evil a lot. Overall this album is something that might not be liked by everyone but can be enjoyed by new and old fans alike.

Overall, Motionless In White seem to be a band that is very keen on what they want and know how to make music and shows just how they want them. Seeing them live was one of the best live shows I have seen all year and I can’t wait to see them again in October!

Thank you for reading, and I hope to see some of you at the show!
